The Taranis X Q7 radio is the entry level radio from Frsky transmitter

The Taranis X Q7 radio is the entry level radio from Frsky transmitter, but still packs all of the essential features that makes Frsky Taranis radios the most popular for drone pilots.  So if you are looking for the best possible radio but the Taranis X9D+ is too much money, then this Taranis Q X7 will be the next best thing.  This radio uses the same base openTX software than runs on the X9D+ so you will not miss out on on any core features.  Essentially the Q X7 is a simplified version of the Taranis X9D+ which is not necessarily a bad thing if you are looking for a great radio for your quadcopter at a decent price.

Features:
Quad Ball Bearing Gimbals
6 switches (4 of which are three-positioned), 2 pots
Supports up to 16 channels
Supports Frsky Telemetry
OpenTX firmware pre-installed
Ability to use external TX modules (JR style like with taranis X9D)
60 Model memory (Model configuration files compatible with TARANIS X9D Plus)
Audio Speech Outputs (values, alarms, settings, etc.)
Real-time Flight Data Logging
Receiver Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) Alerts
Super Low Latency
Smart Port Supported (can use to upgrade Frsky receiver firmware)
Vibration Alerts
Taranis X9D vs Taranis Q X7
The Q X7 can be considered as a simplified version of the X9D  which makes it cheaper.  The most noticeable difference is the screen as the Q X7 is smaller with a lower resolution.  Another major difference is the Q X7 does not include any built in battery or battery charger.  Both radios run the impressive OpenTX firmware with the Q X7 running a slightly more simplified version so some minor features specific to the X9D are missing such as the ability to change the LCD backlight.  You still get telemetry, voice commands etc. on the Q X7. Have a look at the full Taranis X9D+ VS Taranis Q X7 article for more information.
