What does that mean however? How are Avant Stone’s slabs any different from the rest?
Each natural stone slab at Avant Stone is personally inspected by the directors of the business, whom have a combined experience of 25 years in the stone industry. The directors at Avant Stone ensure the material chosen meets the standard of the Australian stone market by personally travelling to quarries and processors and individually selecting every block of natural stone that is warehoused in Sydney.
In the natural stone industry, there are two types of suppliers... Suppliers who focus on Quantity over quality, and others who focus quality over quantity.
As a marble and Granite supplier in Sydney focused towards the residential market, Avant Stone aims to focus on quality over quantity. We focus on importing beautiful looking stone that is both unique and timeless. If we do run out of one particular stone, we will not automatically purchase another block of the stone from the quarry or supplier unless it has met same stringent quality control characteristics of colour, beauty and uniqueness.
The stone itself however must be also of sound structural quality. An example of issues we keep an eye out for our cracks in the stone, brittleness, size of the overall slab and the surface finish such as the quality of the honing or polishing. Slab thickness must also be consistent with each other as this can affect fabrication procedures. All these factors must be taken into account as it not only must look beautiful, but structurally perfect.
When our directors visit to inspect marble or granite, they apply a set of standards that allows them to judge the appropriateness of the stone. They include colour, vein composition, size, overall structure. A stone that does not meet all 4 of these factors is no longer considered.
The above information can help you in choosing where to buy your marble or granite slabs in Sydney, if your supplier cannot explain their quality control procedures they have in place when selecting their stock, you cannot trust their stone!
Avant Stone, as a leading supplier of marble slabs in Sydney, takes great pride in the quality of material we import, as we focus on quality rather than quantity, so we are able to individually inspect each batch of natural stone. Our directors have been purchasing stone for 25 years now and have reputable suppliers across the world where we not only get beautiful looking stone, but structurally excellent stone that will last the test of time.
