The following points should be noted when hoisting spiral steel pipes (SSAW  steel pipes)
1. The horizontal contact surface between the hook and the end of the spiral steel pipe shall not be less than 40mm, otherwise the pipe mouth will be easily deformed and the pipe connection will be affected.
2. There is a limit on the number of hoisting steel wires. A maximum of 4-5 wires can be hoisted at a time for diameters 219, 273, 325, and 377, and a maximum of 2-3 wires can be hoisted at a time for diameters 426, 478, and 529. It can lift up to 2 steel pipes with diameters of 630 and 720 at a time, and can lift 1 steel pipe with diameters of more than 820 at a time.
3. A comprehensive inspection of light and heavy equipment such as cranes and spreaders should be carried out before hoisting. The crane should be in good condition. All lifting equipment, ropes, pulleys, shackles, rope clamps and other equipment must have certificates and operating instructions and be in good condition.

Things to note when installing spiral steel pipes

1. After leveling the sand, compact it with a vibrating plate. The flatness, elevation, thickness, width and density of the sand cushion must meet the design requirements. Spiral steel pipes can be released only after passing the inspection.
2. Spiral steel pipes, pipe fittings and other materials used in water supply pipeline projects should comply with the current relevant national product standards and design requirements, and have factory certificates. Materials must not pollute water quality.
3. Spiral steel pipes and fittings should be hoisted using slings or special tools. It should be handled with care. During transportation, they should be stuffed and tightened, and they should not collide with each other. Protective measures should be taken for the internal and external anti-corrosion layers of joints and pipelines.
4. After checking the bottom of the tank and checking the position of the pipe joints and fittings, put down the spiral steel pipe immediately. A truck crane should be used to lower the pipe. When lowering the pipe, attention should be paid to keeping the direction of the socket consistent with the installation direction of the pipe. At the same time, a working pit should be dug at each interface. The size of the work pit should be suitable for easy installation of pipe joints.
5. When lowering the pipeline, use two steam cranes to hang the two ends of the spiral steel pipe respectively, wrap the spiral steel pipe body with high-strength nylon tape, and slowly place it into the foundation tank. Do not place wood or stones under the pipe. In order to prevent the anti-corrosion layer on the spiral steel pipe from being damaged, the spiral steel pipe must be placed in the center of the trench.
6. The crane should be commanded by a dedicated person. The lifting speed must be uniform, the rotation must be smooth, and the descending speed must be low. The crane must not brake quickly, slowly, or suddenly. During installation and construction, the spiral steel pipe should be beveled, and all relevant personnel should be asked to check the bevel condition in time. The next step can only be carried out after the bottom of the tank is qualified. If the soil foundation at the bottom of the tank does not meet the design requirements, the design, supervision unit and geological survey department should be contacted in time to jointly study foundation treatment measures before proceeding to the next process.
