1.What is electric resistance welding?
Electric resistance welding is a common metal welding method widely used in the manufacturing and repair industries. The principle of electric resistance welding is to use the resistance heat generated when electric current passes through the parts to be welded as a heat source to locally heat the parts to be welded and at the same time pressurize the parts for welding.
Align the welding points of the parts to be welded between the upper and lower electrodes to form a closed circuit. When current passes through the resistor, the contact surface of the workpiece to be welded will be affected by heat, causing the surface temperature of the workpiece to rise. Once the surface temperature of the workpiece reaches the melting point, the workpiece will melt and form a nugget, and pressure will be exerted through the upper and lower electrodes to achieve a stable connection between the metals.
(1) Characteristics of electric resistance welding
①Electric resistance welding can achieve fast welding, the welding speed is fast, and the production efficiency is improved.
② Electric resistance welding has high welding strength and the welding connection is firm and reliable.
③The heating time during the electric resistance welding process is short and the heat is concentrated, so the heat affected zone is small, and the deformation and stress are also small. There is usually no need to arrange correction and heat treatment processes after welding, and it is also suitable for the welding of appearance parts.
④ Electric resistance welding does not require filler metals such as welding wires and electrodes, as well as welding materials such as oxygen, acetylene, and argon, and the welding cost is low.
⑤Simple operation, easy to implement mechanization and automation, and improved working conditions.
⑥No harmful gas is generated. In mass production, it can be integrated into the assembly line together with other manufacturing processes.

(2)Global electric resistance welding market
The global welding equipment market is worth US$13.735 billion in 2021, with an estimated compound annual growth rate of 7.17% from 2021 to 2026. It will grow to US$19.421 billion in 2026, creating an incremental opportunity worth US$5.68661 billion.
From a segment perspective, the growth of the terminal automotive industry will drive demand for welding equipment, and the Asia-Pacific region will continue to lead the market with a growth rate higher than the overall level.
With the continuous advancement of science and technology and the development of industry, electric resistance welding equipment is constantly being updated, improving welding efficiency and quality. As an efficient and reliable welding method, electric resistance welding technology is very mature and has wide application prospects. Especially in the automobile, home appliances, low-voltage electrical, aerospace and other industries, electric resistance welding will continue to play an important role.
2.What is ERW tubing?
ERW pipe, full name Electric Electric resistance welding Tube, is a welded pipe made by electric resistance welding. ERW pipe is a straight seam resistance welded pipe. The weld seam is melted from the base material of the steel strip body, so it has good mechanical strength. The production process of ERW pipes includes high-frequency welding, which is an efficient welding method suitable for mass production.
(1) Features of ERW tubing
Compared with other forms of welded pipes (such as ssaw pipe and lsaw pipe), ERW pipes are stronger; their performance is better than ordinary welded pipes, and their cost is lower than seamless steel pipes; the production process of ERW welded pipes is far safer than other welded pipes.
(2)Application of ERW
①Construction and infrastructure: used for support of building structures, bridges, stairs, railings, etc. Welded steel pipes are commonly used in construction to construct frames and support systems.
② Pipelines and transportation systems: As the main components of pipelines that transport liquids (such as water, oil, natural gas) or gases (such as gas pipelines). Welded steel pipes are widely used in water supply systems, natural gas pipelines, and oil and gas transmission.
③Industry and manufacturing: used for manufacturing equipment, mechanical structures and processing industry purposes. Welded steel pipe is used in the construction of industrial equipment, machine parts, and manufacturing lines.
④Oil and natural gas industry: As a transmission pipeline for oil and natural gas. These pipes require high strength and corrosion resistance, so welded steel pipes are very important in areas such as oil extraction, transportation and refining
