What is automotive galvanized steel sheet?

Therefore, in the late 1970s, a galvanized steel sheet produced by hot-dip galvanizing process appeared, called hot-dip galvanized steel sheet. At present, galvanized steel sheets have been widely used in automobiles, with a thickness of 0.5-3.0 mm, of which the body covering layer mostly uses 0.6-0.8 mm thick galvanized steel sheets.

 

What are the main types of steel sheets for automobile bodies?

The non-load-bearing body refers to the frame that carries the entire body. The engine, suspension and body are all installed on the frame. There are screw holes for fixing the body and a base for fixing the spring on the frame. The non-load-bearing body has a rigid frame, also known as the chassis beam frame. This frame is generally rectangular or trapezoidal and arranged at the bottom of the body. This is usually invisible. It is a long-standing chassis form. Almost all cars used this structure in the early days.

 

More than 100 years ago, when cars were still in the era of custom cars, people would first choose the chassis when buying a car, and then choose different body manufacturers based on the chassis to customize different styles of bodies. The chassis structure of the non-load-bearing body is much simpler than that of the load-bearing body. The main structure of the non-load-bearing body is that there are several crossbeams between the main beams of the front and rear of the two longitudinal vehicles.

 

The longitudinal beam is the main component of the frame and is installed on the top of the longitudinal beam. From a horizontal point of view, the beam chassis is not a purely horizontal design. Generally, there are curve designs at the front and rear wheels to reduce the center of gravity of the vehicle and improve maneuverability. The longitudinal beam is generally made of low-alloy steel plates, and the cross-section is generally grooved. The vehicle with a load-bearing body is integrated without an integral beam. The engine, transmission system, front and rear suspension and other components are assembled on the body, and the body load is transmitted to the wheels through the suspension device. The load-bearing body vehicle runs smoothly on a straight road, has a low natural frequency, low noise, and is light in weight. It is widely used in automobiles. The vehicle with a load-bearing body has two parts in the whole body, the body cover and the body structure.
