Heat exchanger connection method
1. Straight pipe connection method
In the straight pipe connection method, both ends of the heat exchanger are directly connected to the production process with pipes. The advantages of this connection method are simplicity and clarity, small flow resistance of the fluid, and full play of the efficiency of the heat exchanger. However, due to insufficient elasticity, changes in pipe length and height will lead to stress concentration, which is prone to problems such as pipe deformation and leakage.
2. Indirect connection method
The indirect connection method is to achieve heat transfer between the heat exchanger and the process fluid through media such as cooling water or hot oil. The advantage of this connection method is that the stress distribution of the heat exchanger is uniform and can better withstand different loads. However, since the transfer of the medium requires regular replacement and cleaning, it will increase production and maintenance costs.
3. Chemical connection method
In the chemical connection method, heat is transferred between the heat exchanger and the process fluid through chemical reactions. This connection method is widely used in chemical engineering and can meet the requirements for efficient heat transfer and quality of the fluid. However, this method has problems such as limited material selection and difficult operation.
4. U-tube connection method
In the U-tube connection method, a U-tube is used to connect the heat exchanger to the production process. The U-tube allows the pipe to freely expand and contract in length and height changes, while reducing pipe stress and avoiding deformation and leakage. However, the U-tube also has the problem of causing large fluid flow resistance, and the efficiency of the heat exchanger is slightly reduced.
The above are several common ways to connect heat exchangers. Different production processes need to choose the appropriate connection method according to the specific situation.
