1. Daily cleaning

Wipe regularly: Use a clean, soft cloth or sponge to wipe the surface of 304 stainless steel pipe regularly to remove dust, stains and other impurities. For mild stains, just wipe with water; if there are more stubborn stains, add a small amount of mild detergent (such as dishwashing liquid) to the water, but make sure that the detergent will not corrode the stainless steel surface, and rinse thoroughly with water after wiping.

Avoid scratches: During the cleaning process, use soft cleaning tools and avoid using rough brushes, steel wool and other items that may scratch the surface of the steel pipe. Scratches will not only affect the appearance of the steel pipe, but may also damage the passivation film on its surface and increase the risk of corrosion.

2. Preventing Corrosion

Avoid contact with corrosive substances: Try to keep 304 stainless steel pipes away from highly corrosive substances, such as strong acids, strong alkalis, high-concentration chloride solutions, etc.

Control environmental humidity: Keep the relative humidity of the environment where the steel pipe is located within an appropriate range. It is generally recommended to control the humidity between 40% - 60%.

Passivation treatment: 304 stainless steel pipes are passivated regularly to enhance their corrosion resistance. Passivation treatment is a chemical method that forms a dense passivation film on the surface of the steel pipe. This film can effectively resist the erosion of external corrosive media.

3. Post-welding maintenance

Weld cleaning: If welding is performed on 304 stainless steel pipes, the weld and its surrounding areas must be cleaned in time after welding to remove impurities such as welding slag and spatter generated during the welding process. You can use a wire brush, sandpaper or other tools to gently polish the weld surface to make it smooth, but be careful not to over-polish to avoid damaging the weld quality.

Pickling passivation: The corrosion resistance of welded steel pipes, especially the weld area, may be affected. Therefore, the welded parts need to be pickled and passivated to restore and enhance their corrosion resistance. Pickling can remove impurities such as scale and rust on the weld surface and nearby areas, while passivation can re-form a dense passivation film on the steel pipe surface and weld area.

4. Post-processing maintenance

Maintenance after cutting: After cutting the 304 stainless steel pipe, the cut surface needs to be processed. The cut surface may have burrs and unevenness. You need to use tools such as files and sandpaper to smooth the cut surface, remove burrs, and make it smooth. At the same time, the cut steel pipe also needs to be cleaned to prevent debris and other impurities generated during the cutting process from remaining on the steel pipe and affecting its subsequent use.

Maintenance after bending: If the steel pipe is bent, check whether there are cracks, wrinkles, etc. at the bent part. If there are slight cracks or wrinkles, appropriate repair measures (such as repair welding, grinding, etc.) can be taken according to the specific situation. The steel pipe after bending also needs to be cleaned to remove dust, debris and other impurities that may be generated during the bending process to keep the surface of the steel pipe clean.
