Carbon steel tube is made of carbon steel, and is divided into seamless tube and welded tube according to the process. Seamless tube is made of round steel with holes, has no welds, high strength, and is suitable for high-pressure scenarios; welded tube is made of sheet metal with low cost and high production efficiency, and is mostly used for low-pressure transportation.

In the food, medicine and other industries, it can also cause product contamination.

1. Mechanical cleaning

Mechanical cleaning is a more traditional and direct method that mainly uses physical friction to remove rust and dirt.

Wire brush cleaning: Choose a wire brush of appropriate size, hold it tightly and scrub the inner wall of the pipe vigorously until the rust is completely removed. This method is simple and direct, but attention should be paid to the possible wear and tear on the inner wall of the pipe. It is suitable for small pipes or local cleaning.

 

Shot blasting and sand blasting to remove rust inside the pipe: For pipes with larger diameters, shot blasting or sand blasting technology can be used inside the pipe. The rust and dirt are effectively removed by impacting the inner wall of the pipe with high-speed steel shots or sand particles. Both methods are efficient and clean thoroughly, but require professional equipment support.

2. Chemical cleaning

Chemical cleaning uses chemicals to react with rust to achieve the purpose of dissolution or conversion.

Acidic rust removers: Common acidic rust removers include dilute hydrochloric acid, dilute sulfuric acid, etc., which can quickly dissolve rust. When using, pour the rust remover into the pipe, let it sit for a while and then rinse it with water. Attention should be paid to safety protection to avoid harm to human body and environment.

Alkaline rust removers: Unlike acidic rust removers, alkaline rust removers such as sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide convert rust into water-insoluble substances through chemical reactions. Again, be safe when using and rinse thoroughly.

3. Electrochemical cleaning

Electrochemical cleaning uses the principle of electrochemistry to remove rust by applying an electric current to cause an oxidation reaction at the anode.

Electrochemical rust removal: This method will not cause physical wear to the inner wall of the pipe and can remove rust more thoroughly. However, it requires specialized equipment and technical support and is suitable for larger or more severe rust treatments.

Auxiliary measures and comprehensive application

1. Preventive measures: Clean and maintain carbon steel tubes regularly, use rust inhibitors or coatings to protect the pipe surface, reduce the contact between oxygen and water, and prevent rust. 

2. Pipeline cleaning and maintenance: Clean the pipeline regularly to reduce the accumulation of rust and dirt. At the same time, strengthen inspection and maintenance to promptly detect and repair problems in the pipeline.

3. Innovative cleaning technology: For example, use a telescopic rod with a circular water spray pipe to initially clean the oil stains on the inner wall of the pipe with an organic solvent, then physically wipe and wash with water, and finally dry and seal both ends of the pipe to ensure that the inner wall is dry and clean.
