Gmail is one of the email service providers that can work without too many issues. So if you notice that your Gmail not receiving emails, you have to check whatever is causing the problem. There might be server issues, mail settings issues, or storage space issues that are queuing up your mails, and you are not receiving them. The best thing to do is try and find the main cause of the problem and then go about solving it.

There are certain things you can do when you are trying to solve the problem of not receiving emails on Gmail. Some of the things you should try are:

  1. Check for a proper connection: Sometimes, if you are not receiving emails, it is probably because there is a problem with the internet connection. The mail will not be loaded properly, or the sync of the devices can get affected. This is why the first thing to do is check for a proper connection.
  2. Emptying space on the Google account: If too much storage space has been taken up by your Gmail account, some mails may not be found in the inbox. There will be a message showing “Storage Space Used up”. Here, the best things to do is to delete the trash and spam folders on mail, clear some deleted files from the drive and find out a few more places where some space can be cleared up. When there is space available in your Google account, more mails can come in and you can receive new messages that were queued.
  3. Checking through a Facebook account: You have a choice of trying to access your Gmail password through a Facebook account. If you have a Gmail account connected to your Facebook account, find the mail and password that you used to sign in. redirect to the main login page from your Facebook account. You can add the correct credentials or recover your Gmail account to receive the emails again.
  4. Check for the correct Gmail settings: Gmail settings have to be adjusted when you are creating the account itself. It has to have the filters and addresses that can directly access your inbox. If there is a problem with the Gmail settings, your emails may be queued or there might be a problem accessing them. This is why make sure you are checking the settings of Gmail if you think your emails are not visible in the main inbox.
  5. Try checking other folders in your email: Sometimes, the settings on your Gmail account are set in a way that the mails don’t directly come to the inbox. You have to check the Spam and Trash folders for certain messages as well. There is a chance that some mail ids were suspicious or promotional in nature and they were pushed to come another folder. Make sure you check the folders and then redirect them to the inbox.

The next time when Gmail not receiving emails, try these ideas out to see what is the problem. And you can go on to solve it from there.
