Method to Set up the Kindle Parental Controls

The very first thing that should be done is to create the Child account. For doing so, visit the “Settings” menu, and at the bottom of the Settings menu, under the Personal subhead, you may find the option “Profile and Family library”. Click this option, and select “Add a child profile after entering into it. By doing so, you will be prompted to add your Child’s information for creation. For additional or more advanced security, any Nickname or avatar may be used. Once it’s done, you may start configuring the settings. Using the “Add Content” or “Remove Content” option under the parental control, you may limit your child that what he/she may access on the Kindle. You may add content one by one, or also you may add content categories wise. 

Using the Smart Filter option, the Age restriction may be set up for any content. 

The Kindle also allows you to set up bedtime. If it is activated on your Kindle, the Kindle access will automatically be turned off when reaching the time limit. It should be used to make sure that your child should take the sleep at the proper time. 

You may also set the maximum time for each of the activities that your child may do on Kindle. 

The only thing that should be remembered when setting up parental control is to use the most secure and easy to remember password. But, if for any reason, you forgot the Password, you may set up a new one by following the procedure given below. 

Steps to recover the Kindle parental control password

1. Enter the password incorrectly five times, and you will be asked to reset the password, through the pop-up message. Tap on that message.
2. In the next step, you will be asked to sign in through the Amazon account. Do the same, and tap continue. 
3. In the next screen, you will be given the option to set up a new password. Enter the Password as per your choice. 

If the above-mentioned method could not work for you, then resetting the Kindle to the factory default will definitely do the work. 

Steps to reset the Kindle are quite an easy process, and may easily be completed using the procedure given below. 

From Home, choose the menu, and then go to the “Settings” option. 

Now, choose “Menu” again, and select Reset device or Reset to factory default, whatever option your Kindle may have.
