Best place in the world for a fly-fishing vacation
Fly fishing reminds one of a beautiful stream with lots of trees and amazing fishing. These destinations should be high on every fly angler's wish list. It's hard to name a favorite, because each one is like another world. Go to. Fish; And love these excellent fly fishing destinations.
Argentina - Patagonia River Ranch
Patagonia River Ranch is located near the San Martin de los Andes Mountains in Argentina, along the world famous Chimehuin River, and close to many of the best rivers in Patagonia. Guests stay at Patagonia River Ranch with luxury accommodations that are, to say the least, five-star. Vaulted ceilings and rustic wood finishes make this hotel a place you long to return to after a day on the water. For the fishermen, the most valuable experience here is the tour guides, who are native Argentines but speak fluent English and are also top fly-fishing instructors. This is a fly-fishing holiday for beginners and experienced fishermen alike. German brown and rainbow trout are caught here. The river is crystal clear, emitting a beautiful blue "light". They move slowly through the yoke and provide plenty of opportunities to aim at trophy trout.
What you receive here is the best fishing gear, the best fishing guide and the best experience in an alpine environment - the Patagonia River Range.
No-See-Um Lodge, Alaska
No-See-Um Lodge is a world-renowned fly fishing destination that offers an unforgettable experience. No-See-Um Lodge is located in the famous Bristol Bay watershed and along the Kvichak River, a hub for fly fishing.
It's a daunting task, but No-See-Um Lodge takes it easy. You're sitting on 20 million acres of unpolluted land on one of the world's most famous fishing rivers. The Kvichak River is the outlet of Illiamna Lake, which means world class rainbow trout fishing for anglers. You also have access to many other local rivers such as the Nushagak, Eggek System, Naknek and Alagnak - all of which are known for their permanent populations of salmon and wild rainbow trout, Dolly Walden, Arctic salmon, Arctic herring, and sometimes the giant North Pike.
People can list available fish, but it's not the same. Fly fishermen come here to experience fly fishing, and it's the sheer number of fish that makes people fall in love with Alaska. There are millions of salmon, king fish, whitebait, red salmon, chum fish and pink salmon. Rainbow trout are abundant, some of which are 33 to 35 inches long. There are tons of Dolly Varden, a close relative of salmon and rainbow trout. This is a flying cabin that offers more than 30 remote fly-fishing spots, and they're flexible. The ratio is two guides for four fishermen. There is a huge opportunity to land world-class fish. However, hotels and their staff make dreams come true here. Expect a comfortable cabin with luxurious furnishings and personal attention from staff and guides. Your only job here is to enjoy the delicious food and catch trophy fish.
9. Mongolia - Mongol Gate Camp in Sweetwater
Sweetwater's Mongotemen Camp is located within the Eg Ur watershed, a very special fishing collection. Here, Timon fish are 30-40 inches long, with a chance to land fish that are over 40 inches long. These are dry fly monsters that spend their lives chasing food and swimming in small rivers. It takes a lot of insects to raise fish that big, and for fishermen, that's a wonderful thing, because it means these are predatory fish, taking advantage of the opportunity to fill their guts. They eat all kinds of things, including medium-sized mammals. When fishing for these fish, think of the big flies and the big rods. Mice, ducklings, and even beavers are fair game for these fish.
Local rivers also offer Greyling and Lenok, which are Asian trout in the 20-25 inch range. These rivers are beautiful and in some ways comparable to what you might find in the wild in Alaska. What they lack are millions of salmon, but when you lure a 40-inch Taimen to strike, the tradeoff here is staggering.
Guests stay in yurts or geres that act like luxury tents, offering comfortable accommodations and a staff that helps make your fishing adventure something you'll never forget.
