The impact test of seamless steel pipe is a test to detect the impact strength of seamless steel pipe. The test piece is used to destroy the sample. And according to the energy absorbed when the sample breaks, the ability of the material to resist impact damage is detected, that is, the brittleness and toughness of the material are detected.
The stronger the impact resistance of the seamless carbon steel pipe, the larger the value, which is common sense. There are three ways of expressing this tolerance standard. 90% of Japan's impact testing machines are Charpy impact testing machines. Therefore, the impact test item in the material JIS standard requires a Charpy impact tester. This Charpy can also be divided into Charpy absorption work and Charpy impact value. Most of the foreign standards use the Charpy absorption energy, so the new Japanese standard uses this, and the old standard applies the Charpy shock value a bit messy.
So, what is absorption? Using a heavy hammer to hit the specimen from a specified height, the energy absorbed by the seamless steel pipe specimen is the absorption work. Its size is calculated by the height the pendulum reaches after it breaks. There is also an Ehrlich impact testing machine, which has different samples and test methods from the Charpy testing machine and is rarely used in Japan. Some people don't think this test makes much sense.
