What is APEDA and Its Complete Process?

It is a government organization established in 1985 during an act that is agricultural processed food products export development authority act 1986.

The product designated under the APEDA act is called schedule products, and exporters of such products are required to register under APEDA. It provides a guideline, information, financial assistance towards the development of scheduled products.

Its objective is to encourage scheduled products export and attain these different functions undertaken by this body under the central government's regulation. The central government puts down the rule and regulations and implements it to administer the APEDA act efficiently.

APEDA Function

• Registration of exporters of registered products.
• Setting the rule and regulation for the planned works.
• Promotion of export-oriented reproduction and development of the listed product.
• Improves the packaging and marketing of registered products.
• Carrying inspection to ensure the quality of such work.
• Training the different aspects of industries combined with the scheduled products.
• Development of initiatives relating to products planned and undertaking surveys, feasibility studies, etc.

APEDA is mandated with the responsibility of export improvement and development of a product such as fruit, vegetable, meat, poultry products, etc

Process for Registration

For registration below, the candidate should submit the application form within 1month from the undertaking business date. If the exporter of prepared products fails to enroll within that time limit due to adequate cause, such a date can be exempted only by the authority.

Documents required for license:

• Copy of import-export code assigned by the directorate general of foreign trade (DGFT).
• Bank certificate duly signed by the authorities.
• If the candidate firm is a company, submit a self-attested copy of MOA & AOA; if the candidate is a partnership firm, submit the self-attested copy of the partnership deed, and if the applicant is registered or association, then offer the AOA and MOA.
• Bank statement of the bank a/c of the firm (for the last 2month)
• Canceled cheque.
