COVID-19 has exhausted working life, thus, changing how and where people do their jobs. Most of the companies have announced that they are giving their employees the opportunity to work from home permanently. But not all companies are able to do so and with governments all across the globe has starting to ease lockdowns, minimizing virus transmission at work is top of many organizations’ agendas.
Here are some ways how work and workplaces could get changed:
AUGMENTED REALITY WORKSTATIONS
As we all know that Facebook has been experimenting with futuristic desk set-ups, where virtual screens float in the air and people can resize them. In a blog post, Facebook said the technology is part of a new computing platform that would be combining augmented and virtual reality with new devices to create infinite workspaces that can allow co-workers to collaborate in virtual meeting rooms.
MAINTAINING SOCIAL DISTANCING IN OFFICE
Working from traditional office in today’s scenario is a challenge in some form and this challenge lies in how quickly we adapt to inventive workplaces. Most of the global office spaces for rent in NCR have risen to the challenge with a new design. It's a way of transforming existing offices into places where the six feet distance rule which governments may continue to mandate can be observed.
HYGIENE SOLUTIONS
Use of masks and hand sanitizer would definitely will of great help. For instance, employees are asked to grab a paper placemat for their desk. At the end of the day, the paper is thrown away, which could help mitigate COVID-19 spreading on surfaces.
MORE SIGNS
One possible approach can be to encourage employees to walk clockwise which would create one-way flow to minimize transmission as adopted by many hospitals during the current outbreak. From squash-court-style lines in lobbies to standing spots in lifts and from circles around desks to lanes in corridors, the floors and walls of the offices should be covered in visual instructions.
CONTACTLESS TECHNOLOGY
Companies may also need to invest in a new suite of contactless technologies to reduce this disease transmission. All commercial space for sale should be designed as such that their doors must open automatically using motion sensors and facial recognition and lifts too.
FRESH AIR
Good ventilation is the key to prevent the spread of COVID-19. It could be by simply opening the windows.
Thus, above are the important ways in which businesses and other employers can prepare and react to ensure that they mitigate the adverse impacts on their own operations to beat the pandemic.
