I don’t know how other families are, but when I moved away from my mother, I felt like I was going to lose the purpose of living. Anyway, she lived there for 6 years until she passed away.

I kept the granny flat empty for a while. Then we decided to rent it in exchange for an amount of money. It was not a very long process, and now a student lives next to us. Now we have a monthly income from renting and we can invest the money in our hobbies: traveling, hiking, cooking, etc. Building a granny flat was, maybe, one of the best choices we have ever made.
