The regular collection of the waste materials provides good housekeeping and cleanliness practices. Stairways are to be kept clear and not to be used for storage. Adequate lighting is also necessary on stairways. It reduces the chances of accidents.

 

Housekeeping should also contribute to the saving in costs of labour, cleaning material and equipment, furnishings and the like in every type of establishment. One of the most important elements of good housekeeping and cleanliness practices is the maintenance of the equipment and the buildings.
