Straight seam steel pipes can be divided into high-frequency straight seam steel pipes (ERW Pipe) and submerged arc welded straight seam steel pipes (LSAW) according to the production process. Straight seam welded pipe has simple production process, high production efficiency, low cost and rapid development.

The current inspection methods are all physical inspection methods, which can not only reduce the damage to the material, but also accurately reflect the material defects and obtain better information. ERW welded pipe is formed by rolling strip and welding the seam, with tighter dimensional tolerances and less weight. The weld seam is heat treated after welding that no untempered martensite remains, and the weld flash can be removed from both inner and outer surfaces.

ASTM A53 Gr.B is the grade in ERW high frequency welded pipe, divided into A and B grades. ASTM is only a set of specifications. ASTM steel pipe A53 A corresponds to the Chinese standard GB8163 raw materialis 10# steel, and A53 B corresponds to the Chinese standard GB8163 raw material 20#.
