What is Vermox Chewable?
Mebendazole is the active ingredient in Vermox Chewable. This medication is used to treat intestinal worm infections. It is a member of the class of medications known as "anthelmintics.
What it is used for?
For the treatment of roundworm, whipworm, or hookworm-induced intestinal worm infections in adults and children one year of age and older, use Vermox Chewable. Vermox Chewable is used to administer drugs to large populations of intestinal worm patients. These tablets are being provided to you as part of a mass drug administration program. The program adjusts the dosage of medication based on the community's risk of infection. The way that mass drug administration operates is by lowering the population's overall intestinal worm infection rate.
2. BEFORE YOU TAKE VERMOX CHEWABLE
Do not take Vermox Chewable
If you have an allergy (hypersensitivity) to any of the substances in Vermox Chewable, including mebendazole. Give Vermox Chewable only to adults above the age of one.

Take special care with Vermox Chewable
Fits, sometimes known as convulsions or seizures, have been seen in newborns younger than a year old.
Regular monitoring of liver and kidney function tests as well as blood counts is necessary for long-term therapy.
The WHO does not prequalify trade names. The National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) is in charge of this. The proprietary name is used simply as an example throughout this WHOPAR.
Using other medications
There could be drug interactions with Vermox Chewable. If you are taking or have recently taken any additional medications, including over-the-counter medications, please let your healthcare professional know.
It is not advised to take Vermox Chewable along with metronidazole, a medication used to treat infections caused by bacteria and protozoa, as there is a rare chance of a significant skin response.

3. HOW TO TAKE VERMOX CHEWABLE
Vermox Chewable should always be used precisely as prescribed by your physician. If you are unsure, you need to consult your healthcare provider.
Utilizing this medication:
• Consume this medication orally.
This medication is taken as a single tablet, which needs to be well chewed before ingesting.
• Should you find it difficult to chew the tablet:
Pour two to three milliliters of drinking water onto a spoon that is the right size. Then, submerge the Vermox Chewable pill in the water. After two minutes, the tablet should have transformed into a semi-solid, mushy mass.
It will be simpler to swallow now.
See a doctor right away if you take more Vermox Chewable than is recommended. Bring this leaflet and the medication with you. You may experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or cramping in your stomach.

4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Vermox Chewable adverse effects are possible with all medications, however not everyone experiences them.
If you observe or suspect any of the following major side effects, notify your healthcare professional right away. You might require immediate medical attention.
• Fits, convulsions or seizures
• Severe allergic reaction, which could manifest as an itchy rash (hives), trouble breathing or swallowing, swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue, or throat, or all three.
• Toxic epidermal necrolysis, a potentially fatal rash that covers a large portion of the body with blisters and peeling skin
• Severe rash, especially around the mouth, nose, eyes, and genitalia (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), accompanied by blisters and peeling skin

• Appetite loss
• Gas in the stomach
• Diarrhea
• Gas passing
• Low levels of a certain type of white blood cell (neutrophils)
• Nausea
• Vomiting
Feeling lightheaded, having an inflammatory liver, having abnormalities in liver-related blood tests, having renal inflammation, having a widespread rash on the skin, having hives, and losing hair

5. HOW TO STORE VERMOX CHEWABLE
Keep out of children's eyes and reach.
Vermox Chewable should not be used after the expiration date indicated on the bottle following "Expiry." The last day of that month is referred to as the expiration date.
Three (3) months from the time the bottle is initially opened, any unused tablets should be disposed of.
This date (Date opened) should be noted on the bottle label in the designated spot when the bottle is first opened.
Store at or below 30˚C. Keep the container firmly shut.
It is not appropriate to dispose of medicines with household or wastewater garbage. Find out from your pharmacist how to get rid of medications that aren't necessary. The environment will be better protected by these actions.

What's in Vermox Chewable: Mebendazole is the active ingredient. There is 500 mg of mebendazole in each tablet. The remaining components are sucralose, povidone, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, crospovidone, and strawberry flavor.
