Natural Stone – More than just the kitchen

Stone has been used a building product since the dawn of man, however the trend for using slabs for cladding was popularised as a modern architectural idea by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, who first used stone slabs in 1929 to create patterned features in the Barcelona Pavilion. The use of stone in this way is far from what people see natural stone as today, which is primarily for kitchen benchtops.

Then there is using stone for wall cladding.

Try to also choose something that isn't overly bold and powerful, as the stone will be used in larger quantities. This, however, can alter depending on how large the area is, your personal taste.
