Narayan Nagbali Pooja Vidhi : 

Narayan Nagbali Puja is performed at Ahilya Godavari Sangam near Trimbakeshwar. This puja takes three full days.

Narayan Nagbali Pooja is where Pinda Daan ritual is performed so only men can sit for this pooja alone but women cannot sit for this pooja alone. The puja always begins with a bath in the holy water of Kushavarta Kunda, the source of the Godavari River near Trimbakeshwar. After that Jyotirlinga darshan of Mahadev is taken.

First Day of Puja:

Pandit ji tell recommend you to wear white cloths.

Then the Tamrapatradhari Pandit ji starts their Pooja.

First Pandit  places the gold idols of Lord Vishnu and Vaivasvata Yama in two different bowls.

Puja begins with Pradhan Sankalp, Nyasa and Kalash Pooja.

Then Surya, Ganesha, Vishnu are worshipped.

In this ritual five gods are worshiped namely Brahma, Lord Vishnu, Lord Mahesh, Yama and Tatpurusha.

Agni Sthapana, Purushukta Havan, Ekadashi Vishnu Shraddha, Panchdevata shradh balidan, Palash Vidhi, Pinda are offered.

Ten pind are offered with honey, ghee and sesame seeds.

Sandalwood paste is applied on the pind and absorb in water.

Second Day of Puja:

On second day also the puja is started by taking a bath in the Kushavarta kund water and wearing the same clothes of the first day.

Lord Vishnu’s pooja is performed. 

One, three or five Brahmins are invited.

The names of Vishnu, Brahma, Shiva and Yama are chanted.

The fifth pinda is offered in the form of Vishnu.

Clothes, jewels, cows and gold are offered to a one Brahmin.

Pandit ji offers water containing darbha, sesame and tulsi leaves to the devotees.

Third Day of Puja : 

On the third day “Svastipunyavachan” is performed. That means Lord Ganesha is worshipped.

By worshiping Ganapati, the negativity of the previous two-day ritual is remove and a new life begins.

A small gold idol of a nagdevta is worshiped and that Idol is offered to a Brahmin.

Bhog and food are distributed.

In this way the three-day ritual of Narayana Nagbali was completed.
