The COVID-19 virus outbreak not only disrupted our daily lives but also vastly increased our visits to hospitals and clinics. Fear gripped our minds, rendering us helpless at times. An otolaryngologist, also known as an ENT specialist, is a doctor who specializes in ear, nose, and throat problems and diseases. An ENT Doctor treats both adults and children.

Sinus infections-

Stuffy nose? You may have a respiratory infection, also recognized as sinusitis. Sinusitis is an infection of the sinus lining near the nose. d) A weakened immune system or the use of immune-suppressing drugs.

 

Ear infections-

This condition is caused by an infection in the air-filled space behind the eardrum. Some women are biologically predisposed to ear infections. Children aged 6 months to 2 years are the most susceptible to ear infections due to the shape and size of their middle ears and eustachian tubes.

 

Symptoms:

a) Pain near the ears, hearing loss, fever, headaches, and loss of balance.

b) Frequent cold, allergies, and flu.

c) Loss of hearing ability.

 

Recurrent ear infections may result in speech, social, and developmental delays because ear infections impair their ability to hear clearly. It is necessary to see an ent specialist if your child develops several ear infections.

 

Sleep apnea-

Sleep apnea is a condition in which you stop breathing or breathe shallowly repeatedly while sleeping. Your brain and body become depleted of oxygen, and you may wake up. Obstructive sleep apnea is becoming more common worldwide, and the number of people suffering from this sleep disorder is increasing in India.

 

Symptoms:

 

 

a) Snoring that is loud, having episodes while sleeping where you stop breathing.

b) Wake up with a dry mouth almost every day, Sleeping difficulties, and Headache in the morning.

c) Excessive sleepiness during the day (hypersomnia), trouble paying attention while awake.

You can either search for your symptoms or write 'sinus doctor near me' you will almost certainly find what you need.
