Anglers from coast to coast love to go rainbow trout fishing. For both aquacultures as well as stocking initiatives, rainbow trout are indeed a popular choice. Most likely, rainbow trout have been served at a restaurant or in your local supermarket. However, these trout have nothing in common with rainbow trout. For this, we were incredibly disappointed as a child. Freshwater rainbows are identified by a pink or reddish stripe that runs through the middle of their flanks from head to tail (see cover photo).
