Russia has relaunched McDonald’s without the Big Mac. Over the weekend, more than a dozen outlets that were previously McDonald’s locations opened under new ownership and new branding. The rebranded McDonald’s is now called “Vkusno & tochka,” which translates to “Tasty & that’s it.” On opening day, the crowds at the flagship restaurant in Pushkin Square, in central Moscow, were significantly smaller than the thousands who lined up for the original McDonald’s opening in 1990, reported Reuters. The rebranded outlets mark a new trend toward isolation, a reversal of what brought McDonald’s to the Russian market 32 years ago. Original Article Link to read more Continue reading →

Sunday Scaires Four science-backed strategies to stop a vicious cycle of self-defeating thoughts Rumination is associated with a number of mental health issues. SSPL/Getty Images Sarah Sloat 6.5.2022 7:30 PM The phrase “chew the cud” means to further chew partly digested food — but many of us use it to mean something rather more abstract. The scientific word for this is rumination: A process of breaking big things into smaller parts that can then be dealt with or used. It’s apt that we use the same word for the human tendency to feast and dwell on our troubles. While researchers are still working out exactly what rumination involves, it is generally used to mean excessive, repetitive thinking about personal problems. It often results in emotional distress and it is associated with many mental health issues — especially depression.   Original Article Link to read more Continue reading →

In places including the US and UK, remote work is here to stay. But that’s not necessarily the story around the world. T Two years ago, the pandemic thrust us into remote work out of necessity – but now that many of the safety measures have lifted, large swaths of employees are still working from home. And many are doing so permanently. In several countries, companies have transitioned once in-office roles to become either entirely or partially remote. Plus, job listings with a remote component have soared. A recent study from employment site Indeed shows the number of global job listings that mention remote work has nearly tripled since the onset of the pandemic, up from an average of just 2.5% in January 2020 to almost 7.5% in September 2021, with countries like Ireland, Spain and the UK seeing the greatest increases. Meanwhile, careers site Ladders predicts that 25% of all professional jobs in North America will be remote by the end of 2022. This doesn’t even ... Continue reading →

Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) Awareness Month (and Mental Health Awareness Month) comes around every May—and that’s a good thing, because awareness is something that’s truly needed about this often confusing, nearly always disruptive condition. It’s thought to affect 1.4% of U.S. adults, but the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) says that number may actually be as high as 5.9%. More women than men are diagnosed with BPD, though research shows that it may hit men just as often and simply be misdiagnosed as depression or PTSD. According to the National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder (NEABPD), there’s a great deal of misunderstanding and stigma about BPD. “Borderline personality disorder is both misdiagnosed and under-diagnosed,” says Perry D. Hoffman, PhD, the president and cofounder of NEABPD. “And some clinicians won’t see patients with BDP, in part because of the stigma that it’s ... Continue reading →

Most visitors to Italy make a beeline for Rome, Venice, Florence and the like. Trade in crowded piazzas for the real dolce vita in these gelato-toned coastal idylls, picturesque hamlets and vine-carpeted countryside escapes. Found in South Tyrol, Puglia and beyond, these are our favourite unspoiled pockets of Italian charm.   Atrani Amalfi Coast Bypassed in favour of the headline towns such as Positano and Amalfi, Atrani is the Amalfi Coast's best-kept secret. Nestled between two cliffs, it's the smallest hamlet in southern Italy and one where, along steep alleys and peeling paintwork, you can sink into the laid-back vibe. Sorbet-hued dwellings cluster around the medieval piazza, from where a passageway leads to the Tyrrhenian Sea. Attractions include the 10th-century Church of San Salvatore de' Birecto and the Grotto of the Saints, a natural cave decorated with Byzantine frescoes. Castelmezzano Basilicata With a population hovering around 800, this cliffside village ... Continue reading →

Top Software Development Methodologies Waterfall Methodology The methodology has been used by a software development company like TatvaSoft.com for some time now.
