ONE SKILL RETAKE – THE NEWEST DEVELOPMENT IN IELTS

After following an IELTS Course in Sri Lanka and sitting for your Computer Delivered test, if you need to improve your band score in only one area, now you do not need to sit for all four subjects again.

Introducing One Skill Retake!

You can retake one of the four skills—Listening, Reading, Writing, or Speaking—at the IELTS One Skill Retake test. As the majority of test takers receive the necessary scores on their first attempt in three out of the four subjects, and you need to improve in only one particular area, the IELTS One Skill Retake can help you do so, by allowing you to sit only for that particular subject.

If you have recently finished the computer delivered IELTS exam and received your IELTS test score from an approved testing facility, and in the event, you fail to secure the desired band in only one subject, you can schedule an IELTS One Skill Retake. You have sixty days from the date of your initial exam to schedule your IELTS One Skill Retake.

When you sit for the One Skill Retake, you will receive a new IELTS Test Report Form with the results of the prior skills you did not retake along with your new score from the IELTS One Skill Retake. The date of this test report form will match the date of your initial Academic or General Training IELTS exam.

One Skill Retake is available only for the candidates who sit for the computer delivered IELTS test at an approved testing centre for IELTS in Sri Lanka, and is offered as a one-time opportunity. If the candidate fails to obtain the required band score at the retake as well, then he or she will have to repeat all four subjects in their next attempt.

Currently in Sri Lanka, One Skill Retake is available at the British Council test centre and will also be available at certain IDP Sri Lanka test centers from November 2023.

With IELTS One Skill Retake, test takers get a second chance to achieve their desired IELTS band score and hence, it is extremely beneficial to the candidates.
