An aerobic exercise is basically any type of training that involves cardiovascular activity, usually at differentiating levels ranging from low intensity to high intensity. Aerobic exercise means with oxygen, as such your heart rate will increase during aerobic exercises and your lungs will get a workout.
By having a consistent training regime that involves cardiovascular exercise you're improving your overall health, fitness, and mental wellbeing. Therefore it's not surprising that many have taken up regular aerobic exercise.

The main reason to start aerobic exercise is that it improves your overall heart health and reduces health risks such as:

With not much more required for a sport like running other than shoes and in hot cases, finding one of the best running hats will help keep you cool. You don't want to be harmed by UV rays whilst taking up your new-found love with running.

It's no surprise that extremely intensive regular exercise improves our mood. By consistently training and crushing your goals you can improve your sleep patterns due to the energy you're burning every day and it has also been known to help with anxiety and depression.
I know me for one, have had problems with anxiety since my teenage years and swimming definitely helps me take the stress of at times. When you don't need much more other than finding the right swimming goggles and swimming cap (And sometimes, you don't even need that) then it's definitely a surefire way to get started with this type of exercise.
3. Staying active & keeping healthy
Aerobic exercise helps to keep your muscles strong which in turn helps you maintain more mobility as you get older, and improves your overall sense of wellbeing.

4. Increases your stamina
You might have noticed that with age, you're starting to huff and puff when walking up 3 flights of stairs. One thing I noticed when I started running regularly at higher intensities is that I was able to have more breath in my lungs and that those stairs were no longer a problem for me.
5. Improves your Vo2 Max
Vo2 max is a measurement of the amount of oxygen you intake and use during your chosen sport, the more oxygen you can intake basically, the higher your performance. As you stay consistent with your cardio goals then your Vo2 Max will increase as well, giving you more overall performance and stamina. Vo2 max is especially popular with cyclists.
