1. Understand what you want
You need to understand what you want out of your career before you start looking at job postings. You should know what kind of company you want to work for, what kind of position you want, and what kind of salary you’re willing to accept. If you don’t have any idea about where you want to go, then you might not get anywhere. So take some time to think about what you want and how much money you want to make.
2. Research companies
Once you know what you want, research companies that fit those criteria. Look at their websites, read reviews online, and talk to people who already work there. Find out if they offer positions that interest you.
3. Apply
After you find a few companies that seem interesting, apply! Don’t just send them your resume; instead, write a cover letter that explains why you would be interested in working for them. Make sure to mention things that you learned while researching the company. Also, make sure to attach your resume.

4. Follow-up
Follow-ups are extremely important. After you send your application, wait a week or two and then follow-up with a phone call. Ask questions about the interview process and ask if they have any additional information regarding the position.
5. Interview
If you got a callback, then you’ll probably be invited to an interview. Be prepared for the interview by reading over the job description again and making sure you answer all of the interviewer’s questions honestly.
6. Offer
When you finally land the job, make sure to negotiate your salary. If you feel like you deserve more than what they offered, tell them. If you feel like they offered you enough, then say thank you and move on.
7. Stay motivated
Don’t let yourself get discouraged. Even if you didn’t get the job you wanted, keep applying until you do. And remember, no matter what happens, you still have options. There are plenty of jobs out there, and you never know when one will pop up.
