What is ADHD?
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a mental health condition that can cause unusual levels of hyperactivity, impulsive behaviors, and attention issues. It’s one of the most common conditions to affect children and teenagers. But it can also last into adulthood. Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders of childhood. ADHD is usually first diagnosed in childhood and often lasts into adulthood. Children with ADHD may have trouble paying attention, controlling impulsive behaviors (may act without thinking about what the result will be), or be overly active.
Signs and Symptoms
One of my greatest struggles as a parent has been telling people how my kids are doing. How do I put into words how much they can engage and how much fun we have as a family? Their teacher tells me that they're great. They get good grades. They are happy, but appear to not be putting in the effort they need and deserve. However, in the classroom it's obvious that they are not engaged, motivated vigorously and purposefully completing work, or interacting with peers the way their peers do. If a child had attention problems in school, this would appear to be a normal reaction.
How ADHD Diagnosis
There's no specific test for ADHD. Instead, the condition is diagnosed through a checklist of symptoms and other factors, including the results of a physical exam and pre-school history.
The good news is ADHD is fairly easy to diagnose. Most trained health care professionals can do so provided they have enough information. But ADHD isn't something a doctor can test for – there's no simple blood test or MRI scan that can pinpoint the exact cause of your child's symptoms. And even though you may feel frustrated and unsure whether you're doing the right thing and getting support, it's worth being persistent to find out the best treatment options for your child.
There's no specific test for ADHD. A doctor will want to rule out any other conditions, such as vision problems, hearing loss and depression, that could be causing symptoms of inattention and hyperactivity-impulsivity. To do that, doctors may need to.
Treatments
ADHD is a neurobiological disorder that is best treated with a combination of behavior therapy and medication. [What ADHD looks like varies with age; in preschool children, ADHD symptoms may include hyperactivity, restlessness, acting too young for age, poor impulse control, talking too much, not listening to others, easily distracted, forgetful.
Behavioral therapy for ADHD
Sometimes, people with ADHD need a little extra help to improve their behavior. This is where behavioral therapy comes in handy. It's a 'rewards' approach that works on positive behavior. not just on the negatives. This can keep things from feeling like punishment for your child and make for happier family life. Behavioral therapy is not about giving your child more medication. It's about learning new how to behave by offering rewards for good behavior and structure for bad behavior.
Power of Exercise in the treatment of ADHD
A lot of ADHD kids are tired and tired of being tired. The desire to exercise has always been a prevalent factor in many patients with ADHD, but many have inadequate information to pursue their goals because they either don’t know how to make the most of their workouts, or they don’t understand why their strenuous exercises don’t turn into immediate results. This article contains tips and tricks on everything from the absolute basics to the advanced topics that athletes and fitness experts need.
The importance of sleep in ADHD treatment
Sleep is a very important part of ADHD treatment. It helps to improve the ability to focus and pay attention, and the concentration needed for tasks like schoolwork and homework. Sleep is also important for developing self-control. Without good sleep, kids with ADHD may be more impulsive or irritable than usual, which can affect their behavior at school and at home.
