New Features And Updates Packed In Angular 14

What’s New in Angular 14?

Standalone Components

With the new sandbox component feature in Angular 14, you can create your components without using ng-module. The sandbox component is a simple way to test new ideas without worrying about breaking old code or changing your application’s architecture. 

A standalone component has no dependency on other components and can be used independently of angular. Previously, you could only use the @Component decorator to create standalone pieces. Now you can also use an AMD module syntax for standalone components. 

You can write your component as a separate file, then import it into your app. The component’s class will be available as a NgModule and can be used in other modules.

Component Composition

Angular 14 has introduced a new way for components to be composed together – the pipe. This new feature allows you to chain together different pieces of functionality from different modules and then inject them into your app at runtime. We think this is a great way for developers to build more maintainable apps that are easier to understand and organize.

Strictly Typed Forms

Another new feature in Angular 14 is strictly typed forms. It means that the form element will be bound to the model in a way that allows us to use any validators as we see fit without having to write them ourselves. This is great because it means we can have a single input field or even an entire form that has a single validator attached to it.

So let’s say we have some fields with dates on them and we want to make sure they are all in a particular format – i.e., they all have at least 4 digits after the decimal point. We could do this by writing our custom validator but now there is an easier way!

This feature is meant to help you write your forms in a more performant way by not having to worry about type-checking.
