What are the possible side effects of ezetimibe?

Ezetimibe is an anti-lipid drug that can be used to treat high cholesterol disorders.

Ezetimibe exerts an antihypercholesterolemic effect by lowering the total cholesterol, "bad" (LDL) cholesterol, and triglycerides in the blood. Ezetimibe enhances the prevalence of "good" cholesterol (HDL).

Ezetimibe, the effective ingredient of Ezetimibe, minimizes the absorption of cholesterol from the intestinal tract.

Ezetimibe helps the two compounds (statins) be more efficient in reducing cholesterol synthesized by the body.

Cholesterol joins other fats and is regarded as one of the fatty substances that exist in the bloodstream. Among all cholesterol components, total cholesterol is defined to include LDL and HDL cholesterol.

LDL or "bad" cholesterol that plagues the arteries may lead to plaque buildup. Taken together, plaque formation will cause arteries to become narrower over time. Narrowing these arteries can make blood transport to important organs like the heart and brain less efficient. Denying blood supply through the vessels can result in a heart attack or a stroke.

HDL cholesterol, also known as "good" cholesterol, is the one that does not stick with bad cholesterol and does not have any effect on arteries; in contrast, it protects against heart disease.

The fats in the blood, which are known as triglycerides, are one of the main reasons for heart disease.

It is often resorted to when dietary intervention is not possible to lower cholesterol levels. On the other hand, you need to be careful with your cholesterol-lowering diet due to the medication.
