Emergency Health Care Services In Eastern Washington

Emergency medical services means medical treatment and care which may be delivered at the scene of any medical emergency or while transporting any patient in an ambulance to an appropriate medical facility including transportation between medical facilities. These EMS can be provided by city fire departments, regional fire service authorities, fire districts, public hospital districts and private ambulance services etc.

911 should be the first call if there is any medical emergency. Patients who come into the emergency department during medical emergency are promptly screened by a registered nurse to determine the level of care that is needed. According to the severity of their condition, priority is given to them. Many hospital use a three category system of triage: emergent, urgent and non- urgent. The most seriously ill or injured will be triaged and move ahead of others if other patients have non- life- threatening condition. After that the suitable and necessary medication is given to them by the team of experienced medical professionals and doctors.

System monitoring and evaluation

A systems approach to trauma and emergency  is cost effective. It helps to ensure appropriate and adequate care with the goal of reducing death and disability, along with the personal and societal burden resulting from these emergencies.

Every two year, all eight EMS and trauma care regional councils prepare plans to achieve overall goals within their boundaries, subject to state Department of health review and approval. Each region has an injury prevention coordinator or contact.

The coordinator works with programs and local partners that help to reduce risks for injury. These includes safe kids coalition , country based traffic safety task forces, hospital or clinic based designated trauma services, law enforcement, fire and EMS agencies, area agencies on ageing, parks recreation, and many others.

Ultimately, the mission of any systematic approach to care comes down this simple maxim: get the right patient to the right resources in the right amount of time. So that no one will face causalities in the absence of proper medical facility during emergency.
